Random thoughts and good points during class:

The way that we use technology. Is it kind of a waste?
Ex. Reading books online, on ipods, electronic books. Frankly I don't understand that.
Blogs:
Lurkers - people who look, read and take, but not contribute. Maybe that is not what the author wanted? Does it really matter? What is the reason for the blog. Its just for you, right?
Laziness -
Technology is (one of many) tools for creation - you just have to use them. Create, communicate and collaborate.
I like that it is instant. I am beginning to like how connected you can become. I don't like all of the passwords.

  1. I often have that feeling too Deidra. However, then I learn a new "toy", such as my recent foray into the world of iGoogle (if you haven't already, try it...it's cool!). I never did the web portal thing, but now I'm hooked on having all of my commonly visited places in one place, and the toys are kinda neat too!

I'm coming to the realization that it's the ultimate free-market experience. There are tons of things out there to choose from, and I pick what I like and leave the rest alone. The one drawback is that, in using it for social learning, having so many choices means that the people that you want to socialize with may be using a tool or tools that you are not, and you are left with the decision of adding yet another gadget, or risk losing touch with people that you've built a relationship with.

  2. I try to use the same ID and password for web 2.0 accounts of I can. I love iGoogle, and I take notes with iGoogle notes, so i can access to my info such as login ID for different web 2.0 accounts.

  4. In my opinion, the top fun of Blog is the willingness to share. I wrote diary since the very beginning day in primary school until college. Even after that, I kept some random thoughts every a couple of days. Though I didn't have much prompt until recently I started to blog, either in ITEC 830 blog or personal Windows Live Spaces blog. Because I found I need to first share my thoughts before I get feedback from peers or friends. Surely I don't expect to get comments on each blog entry, but when I get something, I'm happy. I also comment on others' blog. Even if it's just for myself, I still enjoy it because my thoughts are kept well on the internet so in the future I can review them, for memory...
